Testing system, powertrain “pump pistons”

The pump pistons are fed into the testing system or individual testing stations by means of a pick & place system, where their quality is tested using an eddy current process, laser scanners, measuring probes, or industrial image processing. The 8 measuring stations are arranged around a rotary indexing table in order to maintain a cycle time of 4 workpieces per minute. Palletizing and removal of the parts is performed by a SCARA robot. Following a successful test, the components are marked with a laser and their data matrix code is inspected. If the test is unsuccessful, the “not OK” components are discharged separately.
